Job proposal
Presentation of institut image:
Institut Image is an institute of Arts et Métiers depending of Cluny Campus. Its research team is integrated in the Le2i laboratory which is a joint laboratory between University of Burgundy, Arts et Métiers, CNRS. Institut image shares a joint laboratory with Renault called the LiV laboratory as well. Institut image aims at developing methods and tools of virtual immersion for engineering through teaching, research and innovation. Institut image develops its activities in Chalon-sur-Saône in a building of 1200 m2 and a technological plateau of 410 m2 (with facilities as CAVE rooms, HMD, driving simulators, haptic devices...).
Job activities:
The research project has for framework advanced visualization for smart cities. The scientific questions relate to interaction with digital mock-up in using augmented reality. The post-doctoral researcher will have to propose methods and tools of augmented reality dedicated to smart cities. The identified questions of research are the following ones:
  • How to visualize smart cities data adapted to the users profile (visual metaphor)?
  • How to interact with the data in augmented reality (for navigation in data base)?
  • How to enable a link between digital data and real world through augmented reality?
  • How to annotate the digital mock-up in using augmented reality?
The proposed approach will follow the following points:
  • State of the art
  • Development of an augmented reality interface (visualization, interaction)
  • Study and development of visualization tools dedicated to specific trade of building
    (architect, takeholder, construction, maintenance...)
  • Methods and tools enabling the annotation on digital mock-up
  • Development of a demonstrator
  • Validation (experiments)
The research project will be applied to the smart cities domain. The application will concern in particularly the design and/or management of a building (smart building). It is expected scientific publications from this work.
