MSc and PhD Student Recruitment, University of Manitoba, Canada

This is a call for applications to PhD and MSc positions at the Human-Computer Interaction Lab, University of Manitoba, Canada. http://hci.cs.umanitoba.ca/. Competitive funding is available.

The HCI lab is directed by three faculty members, Dr. Pourang Irani, Dr. Andrea Bunt, and Dr. James Young, and conducts research in a wide range of areas:
- information visualization
- tabletop and large displays
- novel input devices
- intelligent interactive systems
- user modelling
- human-robot interaction
- tangible interfaces


Application process:

- send CV, potential project ideas, motivation letter, or other related documents.

PhD Scholarships at University of South Australia

The University of South Australia currently offers very interesting PhD scholarships for the timeframe: 2012 - 2015
The big challenge is that the application deadline is in 2 weeks already (24 June).

Top 150 in the overall rankings or Top 100 in a Discipline ranking.
For example, University of Cambridge is ranked 2 in the overall rankings = Tier 1 Institution.
The University of Western Ontario is ranked 151 in the overall rankings, however, it is ranked 95 in the Discipline of Social Sciences = Tier 1 Institution.
Another example of this is Chalmers University of Technology which is ranked 198 in the overall rankings, however it is ranked 56 in the Discipline of Engineering & IT and 80 in the Discipline of Natural Sciences = Tier 1 Institution
