Faculty Position in Applied Immersive Game Design in New Zealand


The University of Canterbury (UC) in Christchurch, NZ, is looking to hire an early career person in "Applied Immersive Game Design" (read: VR + Games).

This is an exciting opportunity in the UC School of Product Design, and is a continuing (permanent, as there is no tenure structure in NZ) academic position. The programme is closely aligned with the HIT Lab NZ.

PostDoc position Virtual Reality

POSTDOC POSITION WITH KATJA FIEHLER AND KARL GEGENFURTNER

Starting date: between August and December, 2019

A PostDoc position is available in Giessen, Germany. The successful candidate will join the groups of Katja Fiehler and Karl Gegenfurtner at the Psychology Department of Giessen University. The labs offer excellent facilities for studying visual perception and motor control. We are part of a larger research group on perception and action with close links to scientists within Europe and world wide (http://www.sfb-perception.de).

The group offers a stimulating, multi-national and multi-disciplinary research environment for young scientists (http://www.allpsych.uni-giessen.de). Giessen is a small university town, located just 60 km north of Frankfurt, right at the center of Germany.

The position is for a PostDoc interested to study perception and/or action in a Virtual-Reality environment. We have a newly established Virtual Reality lab, with devices to precisely measure eye, hand, and body movements, and for the calibrated display of color stimuli.

The position is for 3 years. Knowledge in visual psychophysics, and good programming skills are necessary. A PhD degree in Experimental Psychology or a related field (computer science, neuroscience, biology) is required.

display environments, including AR/VR settings. 

1 position (full time) in the collaborative research center "Foundations of
Perspicuous Software Systems" (https://www.perspicuous-computing.science/)
in the field of interactive information visualization, immersive visualization and natural interaction. Application deadline: end of May or until position is filled.

1 position (full time) in the cluster of excellence "Physics of Life" 
(https://physics-of-life.tu-dresden.de/) in the field of immersive analytics
