Open PhD position at TU Darmstadt, Germany

Open PhD position at TU Darmstadt, Germany

The Graduate School of Computational Engineering at Technische Universität (TU) Darmstadt grants a scholarship for PhD students (1500 Euro/month, tax-free) for 3 years in the area of interactive physically-based simulation and real-time visualization.

Description:

The dynamic simulation is an important area of research with many applications. This area includes the simulation of rigid bodies, deformable solids and fluids. Today dynamic simulation plays an increasingly significant role in the development of complex machines (e.g. in robotics), in medical science, in computer animation and in virtual reality applications.

The candidate should pursue research in one of the following fields:

- interactive simulation of deformable models
- collision detection and response
- simulation and visualization of fluids
- GPU-based simulation

Prerequisites:

An above-average diploma or master's degree in the field of computer science or related discipline is required. The candidate should have good language skills in English and good skills in object oriented programming.

The scholarship provides the opportunity of writing a Ph.D. thesis.

Please send your application with the relevant documents (i.e. cover letter, CV and degree certificates) in electronic form to:
