PhD position available at University of Würzburg

The Department of Computer Science and the Department of Human-Computer-Media at the University of Würzburg are inviting applications in the field of Computer Science in Media for a PhD Position for a period of 4 years starting as soon as possible. The responsibilities include teaching in the study courses "Media Communication" and "Human-Computer-Systems". In addition, it is expected that candidates participate in research projects at the Immersive Media Group (img.uni-wuerzburg.de/en), and pursue a doctoral degree. It is required that candidates hold a (natural scientific) university degree (diploma or master), preferably in the fields Computer Science (in Media) or Human-Computer-Interaction, have very good programming skills and interest in interdisciplinary teamwork. Preferable are skills and knowledge in the field of in-/output devices (e.g., stereoscopic displays, tracking systems, multi-touch devices), good command of English, as well as interests in at least one of the following research fields: • Virtual, Augmented or Mixed Reality, • Human-Computer-Interaction, • Interactive 3D Computer Graphics, • Computer Vision, • Interaction Design, • Perceptual Psychology, and/or • Cognitive Sciences. Salary for the PhD position is according to E13 TV-L (100% position, 4 years). The university seeks to increase the number of female researchers, and we particularly invite women to apply.
