Software engineer: expert human-computer interaction and / or haptic

The IGG (Informatique Geometrique et Graphique) team of the LSIIT (Laboratoire des Sciences de l’Image, de l’Informatique et de la télédétection) of the University of Strasbourg, is recruiting an engineer for a project financed by the ANR (Agence nationale pour la recherche) called eelInControl. This 4-year project aims at validating some clinical hypotheses about the causes of schizophrenia.
The engineer will be responsible for leading the development, from an existing application, of the tools needed to perform the tests required by the project participants.

Simultaneously, the recruit will participate in the other ongoing work within the IGG team, on haptics, 3D interaction and virtual reality.

The work will be done in collaboration with researchers of the team " Physiopathologie et Psychopathologie cognitive de la schizophrénie ", INSERM U666 Unit.

The candidate should have a masters degree or PhD on human-computer interaction degree in the field of haptic or human-computer interaction, with a strong technical background.The justification of experience in 3D interaction, human-machine interfaces and haptic will be an asset. The engineer will also be asked to assist the referee of the project at the LSIIT, will be responsible of technical aspects with the partners, and realize the needed development.

Activities:
Primary mission:
• Development of an experimental application for the evaluation of the clinical hypot of tests with patients.

Side missions:
• Definition, planning and conducting a study on the realization of haptic information when using an application of surgical planning.
• Development and evaluation of interaction techniques in virtual reality

Skills:
• Good knowledge of all software engineering and computer science.
• Good knowledge in object-oriented programming (C + +).
• Good knowledge of haptic devices EYT Associated Bookstores
• Knowledge required in virtual reality and computer graphics.

Requirements of the position:
The workplace is ENSPS - Ecole Nationale Superieure de Physique de Strasbourg (LSIIT Laboratory), Pole API - Parc d'Innovation, Boulevard Sébastien Brant - BP 10413, 67412 Illkirch Cedex.
The CSD is a period of 12 months.
The net monthly salary: about 2000 euros (depending on experience).
