The Interactive Media Design Lab (http://imd.naist.jp) at Nara Institute of
Science and Technology (NAIST) is calling for outstanding candidates to fill a
Postdoc position. 

The candidate can start as soon as possible.  However, due to the candidate
selection and visa application process, we consider 1 June 2015 to be a
realistic starting date.

=== Responsibilities === 
Simply speaking, your task will be to implement Startrek's Holodeck. You will
lead a team of PhD and Master students to combine a leading head-worn display
for Augmented Reality with a room-sized haptic device to enable users to see
and touch virtual objects on a large scale. The ultimate goal is to display
virtual objects that are indistinguishable from real objects and prove this
through human subject experiments.

=== Qualification/Skills === 
Required: 
- PhD in computer science or related areas 
- Outstanding research record with publications at top conferences and journals 
- Research experience in at least one of the following areas: Computer Vision,
 Computer Graphics, Human-Computer Interaction, Robotics, Augmented Reality,
 Virtual Reality

Desirable: 
- Interest in learning Japanese (it helps you to enjoy your spare time)
