The Department of
Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) it the University of
Florida invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant
Professor rank. The anticipated starting date is August 2013.
Exceptionally strong candidates in any area of computer science or engineering
are encouraged to apply, although we are especially interested in
human-centered computing, including: human-computer interaction,
virtual/augmented reality, visualization, ubiquitous computing, and interactive
computer graphics.
This position is targeted to the Digital Arts and Sciences program (DAS), which offers a core computer science degree with emphasis on human-centered computing. The CISE Department is comprised of 30 tenure track faculty, and 480 graduate and 656 undergraduate students. Research areas include computer graphics, simulation, and art, computer systems, computer vision and intelligent systems, database and information systems, high performance computing and algorithms, medical imaging, machine learning, and networks and security.
Qualifications: A PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline and commitment to excellence in teaching and research is required.
Salary and support are competitive and dependent upon background and experience.
