Position Description:
The position will focus on the design and evaluation of
immersive interfaces for high-level tasks that incorporate support for multiple
human senses. The successful applicant will:
1. Design
user scenarios that incorporate our existing sub-systems for multi-sensory
feedback for performance of multiple low-level tasks;
2. Assess
the level of presence experienced by immersed users with various sensory
display combinations;
3. Conduct
empirical research to evaluate the tradeoffs that different designs make to
support effective interaction;
4. Disseminate
the results produced in leading journals and/or conferences.
The position will start September
1, 2014 (or soon thereafter), and is a 12-month appointment.

Requirements:
Applicants should have completed a PhD in Computer Science/VR
or related field by the time the position begins.
